INDIZA TAKES FOUR SHOTS LEAD HEADING TO GOLF TOUR FINAL ROUND TODAY

Mumias Sugar Golf Club’s Dismaz Indiza today opened a four shot lead ahead of the final round of this year’s KCB sponsored KCB Golf Tour at the par 72 Royal Nairobi Golf Club.

Indiza is currently on a total score of eight under par 208 (70, 70, 68) after the three rounds, with Muthaiga pro Nicholas Rokoine and Vet Lab’s Brain Njoroge breathing on his neck, trailing him by a four shots and six shots respectively going into Friday’s final round.

During today’s round, the long hitting Mumias pro posted four under par 68 to maintain the lead in the KCB Golf Tour that teed off on Tuesday.

He sunk pars on holes one, three, five and six, before posting birdies on the par five second and seventh hole for a first nine score of 35.

In the second nine, Indiza dropped a shot on the par four hole 10, picked birdies on the par four holes 11 and 12,par five hole 15 and par three hole 17. He then sunk pars on holes 13,14,16 and 18 for a second nine identical score of 33.

Nicholas Rokoine managed a total score of four under par 212 for a total of (70, 73, 69).

According to tournament director Elisha Kasuku, the prize money for the four rounds competition is Sh1 million.

Meanwhile, a large field of 200 amateur players are expected to join the professional for the KCB Corporate Golf Day at the same venue on Friday.

Among the amateurs to spice up the tournament are former Boston marathon winner Moses Tanui, SAP MD Andrew Waititu, Sankara MD Moshi Perera, David Muthike of KenGen, Jonathan Ciano of Uchumi, DHL Country Manager Alan Cassels among others.

KGU CHAIRMAN’S PRIZE SET FOR ROYAL, ATTRACTS 200 PARTICIPANTS

The Annual Kenya Golf Union Chairman’s Prize Golf Event will be played on Saturday July 12, 2014 at Royal Nairobi Golf Club.
This year’s event will be in honour of the out-going KGU Chairman Francis Okwara who has served the Union in different capacities since the year 2010.
Okwara served the Union as the Hon. Treasurer in 2010 and 2011 before becoming the Vice Chairman in 2012 and Chairman in 2013.
The event has attracted about 200 golfers from all over the country with each Club affiliated to the Union inviting a four ball each as well as Chairman’s guests most of whom are from his home club Royal Nairobi Golf Club. The Chairman has also invited national team members to participate in the event.
An array of prizes will be up for grabs and the winner of the event will get away with the Chairman’s cup that was introduced last year.

“The support for the game of golf has always been strong in Kenya and the 2013 KGU Chairman’s Prize Event is a wonderful opportunity for all golfers to come together as we enjoy a weekend full of golf extravaganza,” Okwara told Kenya Golf Guide.
The event will be an 18 holes stableford competition and all Clubs in Kenya are invited to send representatives.
The new Chairman and other officials of the Union will also elected by delegates (representatives of the affiliated Clubs) during the Annual General Meeting also set for Saturday. nike air max 1 nike air max 1
