RICHU REIGNS SUPREME AT TUSKER MALT GOLF DAY

Paul Richu posted a massive 39 points to emerge the winner of the Tusker Malt Lager Golf day at Muthaiga Golf day. Richu playing off handicap 21 posted a score of 16 stable points on the outward nine and a fiery score of 23 points on the inward nine to lead the field of 240 players.

Speaking after his round Richu said this was his best round in many years.”I am quite thrilled to be the winner and I am happy I signed up for this tournament,” Richu said.

Hon. Amos Kimunya playing off handicap 22 settled for the runner up position on 39 points.  He started the first nine with 22 and 17 on the second nine. Handicap 14 Eric Malonza beat Solomon Karanja on countback to finish third on 38 points.

The lady winner was Nolly Patel with 37 points while Samira Furrer was the lady runner. The nines went to John Gitonga on 19 points and Gailey Singh on 21 points.

INDIZA EMERGES WINNER AT THE PGK SECOND LEG TOUR AT ROYAL CLUB

Despite hitting a string of bogeys at the back nine which resulted into a one over par 73, Mumias Golf Club’s Dismas Indiza still clinched the top prize in the second leg of the 2014 KCB Golf Tour series at Royal Nairobi Golf Club today.

The long hitting Indiza who had started well firing three under at the front nine which included three birdies at the fourth, sixth and seventh, picked up three back to back bogeys from the 11th to 13th, birdied the 14th but dropped two shots at the 16th and 18th for four over par at the back nine and a 73 which saw him finish with seven under par total of 281 to take home a cool Sh192,000 plus 20 points towards the KCB Golf Tour series Order of Merit. “ The morning rain real affected play in the final round where everybody wanted to play well’’ said Indiza who won by five shots from Muthaiga’s Nicholas Rokoine who shot two over par 74 for two under par 286 to win Sh145,000 plus 19 points towards the Order of Merit. Rokoine bogeyed the third and fourth  and the  15th at the back nine. Vet Lab’s Brian Njoroge who bogeyed two holes at the outward nine and three at the back nine where he also dropped  at the 11th and 12th and 15th and 17th for five over par 77 and a total of 291.  Home pro David Wakhu and South Africa based Stefan Andersen tied on 293 in fourth place.
