Since its launch, the tournament has grown into one of the most vibrant amateur golf circuits in the region. In Kenya alone, it has traversed Mombasa, Nairobi, Kisumu, Nandi, Kiambu, Nyeri, Kisii, Machakos, and Laikipia Counties, creating a network of golfing talent and enthusiasts across the country.

Beyond the borders, the tour has taken players to Uganda, Tanzania, and Burundi, with Rwanda set to host its leg later this month.

According to KCB Group Director of Marketing and Communication, Rosalind Gichuru, the tour has been more than just a sporting showcase. “The KCB East Africa Golf Tour has given us a unique platform to not only grow the sport but also to engage communities across the region. So far, we’ve reached more than 2,500 people, including juniors who represent the future of this game. It is about building connections, growing talent, and creating a sustainable legacy for golf in East Africa.”

On Sunday, the spotlight will shift to the community, with a junior golf clinic designed to introduce young players to the sport. A tree-planting exercise will also take place, reinforcing KCB’s commitment to environmental sustainability and ensuring the tour leaves a lasting impact beyond the course.

“Our greens are in excellent condition, and everything is in place to give golfers a memorable experience. We look forward to welcoming players from across the country for what promises to be a thrilling competition,” noted Kakamega Sports Club Captain Ronald Omondi.

With each stop, the KCB East Africa Golf Tour continues to weave together sport, sustainability, and community. For the golfers stepping onto Kakamega’s flourishing greens this weekend, the stakes are high, but so too is the promise of a tournament that has grown into a beacon of regional unity and transformation.

After the Kakamega edition, the next leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour will be held at the Limuru Country Club on October 18, 2025.
