Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club’s par 72 golf course will this weekend host the eighth event of the Dasani Golf Gala where the teams will compete for two qualification slots to the Grand Finale from which the winning team will win an all expenses paid trip to the TOUR Championship in Atlanta USA.

Windsor reputed as one of the best International golf tourist destinations in Africa, will offer a fine challenge to the seasoned golfers as well as the learners. According to Coca-Cola’s Peter Njonjo, the Gala has been exciting. “This season our winners are travelling to Atlanta, the home of Coca-Cola for the TOUR Championship and this has highly motivated the golfers,” Njonjo said. “Windsor is a tough course and I expect competition to be fierce. With two qualification slots up for grabs and over 100 golfers, it will be a tough. ”

Njonjo said that the Gala in its 8th leg is doing well evident from the rave reviews the event is getting. “Many golfers are excited about Dasani Golf Gala. We have large turnouts wherever we go and I’d encourage more golfers to join. The series has attracted over 1000 players from 8 golf clubs we have visited so far.  We expect Windsor to be extremely exciting for the members and our guests,” he said.

Over 170 golfers have registered for the event that will be played in team format. The team from Coca-Cola will be represented by Joseph Kibuchi and Peter Njonjo.

Action at Windsor will tee off before 8am with the first teams expected to finish their rounds in time for lunch. The last teams will tee off before 2pm and are expected to complete their rounds by 6pm.

From Windsor the gala moves to coast where all clubs from the region will converge at Nyali Golf club to compete for three qualification slots to the Grand Finale. Participating clubs will be Vipingo, Mombasa, Leisure and Malindi.

The winning team in the Dasani Golf  Gala will win an all expenses paid trip to the TOUR Championship, Presented by Coca-Cola, to be held at the East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta, USA. The winners will get to play on some of the most prestigious golf course on the PGA Tour including the TPC SugarLoaf and the TPC SawGrass. The Nairobi Greenline Project will hold a golf tournament on Friday (June 10^th) at the Windsor Golf and Country Club to mark the World Environment Day and to raise funds towards its 300,000 tree planting campaign to protect the Nairobi National Park.

This 18 hole Stableford competition has attracted over 20 corporate sponsors among them PG Bison Kenya Limited.  The Company has sponsored the 17^th hole for 40,000 shillings.  Nishit and Hitesh Mediratta, the Directors, will play in the tournament together with their clients Eric Govani and Zubin Parikh.

A total of 190 competitors have registered in this Greenline charity golf event.  Other players on the list are Anthony Percival, the Managing Director of Toyota, Pradeep Paurana, the Chairman of  Athi River Mining, General Sassia of the Armed Forces of Kenya and Wanja Kimani, the Coordinator of the Greenline Project.

The competition will start at 8.00 a.m. on Friday and the prize giving is scheduled for 7.00 p.m.  There will also be a briefing on the progress of the Greeline project and celebrations to mark the World Environment Day.

In 2010, the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) started the Nairobi Greenline Project in partnership with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to grow 300,000 trees from the Cheetah Gate in Athi River to the Carnivore Restaurant.

The aim of this campaign is to protect the Nairobi National Park from pollution, encroachment and human and wildlife conflict.  Since the launch, the sponsors have raised 23 millions shillings. michael kors tasche sale michael kors tasche sale
