Muthaiga’s Karan Singh Sokhi fired an impressive 41 stable-ford points to emerge the top golfer at the CfC Stanbic Golf Day held at the 18-hole Karen Country Club Friday.

Playing off handicap 24, Sokhi weathered the chilly and drizzly conditions, managing 20 points in the front nine and 21 points in the back nine.

Sokhi, who has been playing since he was 16 years old, attributes his success to focus and a great mentor. “I decided to play last minute in place of my father who could not make it. I knew I had to get my act together fast. I focused, I saw the win and I grabbed it!” says Singh who is the son of veteran golfer Sokhi.

William Mayiani, playing off handicap 10, came in second with just a point short of Karan Sokhi. Mayiani started off with an admirable 21 points on the first nine but lost momentum and shed two points in the second nine to post 19, for a total of 40 stable ford points. Handicap 24 Stephen Mwangi scored 16 and 23 for 39 stable-ford points to claim third place.

Handicap 20 Marion Gathoga carried the torch for the ladies with 38 points; 22 in the first nine and 16 in the second nine. Close behind with just a point short was handicap 12 Eunice Maranga who posted 20 and 17 for 37.

Gerald Kamau posted the best score of the night after managing a whopping 45 stable-ford points but was edged out of the race for the title of Overall Winner as his designation as staff could not permit. Kamau, playing off handicap 22, scored 19 in the front nine and an unmatched 26 points in the back nine for a total of 45, four points clear of the overall winner.

The team of Peter Kanyago, Ken Kubasu, William Mayiani and Louis Otieno posted a cumulative 41 points to emerge the best team. Maina Ruo, Susan Kasinga and Louis Otieno were also awarded for winning Men’s Longest Drive, Ladies’ Longest Drive and Nearest to Pin respectively.  J. Opiyo and K. Mariga tied at the Piga Mingi slot with 15 points each.

Speaking during the awards ceremony, CfC Stanbic Managing Director Greg Brackenridge said the aim of the golf day was to foster close relations with customers and reward loyalty, adding that the company intends to continue holding such golfing events every year to enhance interactivity and not necessarily as a platform for competition amongst participants.

Club Captain Andy Watt welcomed the move by CfC Stanbic and lauded the company for choosing Karen Country Club where the spirit of true sportsmanship is highly promoted. maillot de foot pas cher maillot de foot pas cher
