Anil Shah of Royal has opened a four shot lead going into tomorrow’s final round of the Professional Golfers of Kenya (PGK) Masters tournament at the par 72 Royal Nairobi Golf Club after posting a two-round total of six under par 144 to maintain his lead on the leader board.

The first round over night leader failed to repeat day one feat where he scored four under par 68 as he only managed two under par 70 today but was lucky his closest opponent Greg Snow who trailed him by a single shot in the first round, had a miserable second round.

In the first nine, Shah was finished fourth at the last PGK Masters event held at the Windsor Golf and Country Club last week, sunk a birdie on the par five hole two then played a bogey on the par four hole five for a first nine score of 36. In the second nine, Shah picked a shot on the par four hole 12, then played a bogey on the par three hole 13, but recovered with two back-to-back birdies on par five holes 14 and 15 for a score of 34.

Snow who posted 69 on day one, had probably the worst first nine of his career as he registered a double bogey and three bogeys for a score of 41. He tried to make amends in the back nine with a birdie on the par four hole 10 and followed it with three back-to-back birdies on the par fives holes 14 and 15 and par four 16 for a score of 32 and a total of 73.

After the two rounds, Snow is placed tied second with Railway’s John Wangai on two under par 142. Wangai posted the best score of the day during today’s round, but had registered a score of 73 in the first round.

Golf Park’s David Opati and home player Hesbon Kutwa are tied fourth on level par 144. Opati who on Monday posted one over par 73, today managed one under par 71, while Kutwa who played two over par 74 in the first round, managed two under par 70 during today’s round.

The winner of the last pros event held at Windsor last week, Brian Njoroge of Vet Lab tied in the sixth position with Nyanza’s David Odhiambo on three over par 147.

Njoroge who was placed third after the first round on two under par 70, tumbled today as he managed a round of five over par 77, while Odhiambo who was fifth after the first round on level par 72, on Tuesday posted three over par 75.

The three-round competition has brought together 30 top local professional golfers who are battling it out for a prize money of Sh200, 000.

Today’s final round promises fireworks, but Shah remains the hot favourite given that he has a mastery of the course and it will not be easy to slash the four shot advantage that he enjoys. nike air max cheap wholesale nike air max cheap wholesale
