KARANJA, MWANGI WIN CROWN TEFLON FOURBALL BETTER-BALL COMPETITION AT MUTHAIGA

Patrick Karanja and Martin Mwangi won the Crown Teflon fourball better-ball competition held at the par 71 Muthaiga golf club over the weekend.

Playing off handicap 4 and 12 respectively, their effort was on count back beating Sahir Sarbana(19) and Nandya(28) to second position and one shot better than that of Sahir Bhabra(6) and Tanvir Sodi(3) in third place.

Patrick and Martin both qualified for the finals of this year’s Crown Teflon fourball better-ball series to be held at Muthaiga Golf Club in November.

The duo came through a tough encounter to win thanks to the latter comfortable success on second nine hitting a Birdie on dog-right par 5 hole 10 and seven consecutive Pars on 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th.

Demanding weather conditions proved a stern test of both technique and resolve for all players.

First nine winners for the day went to Grace Kimeria and John Kimeria playing off handicap 28 and 15 respectively while second nine winners went to Victor Maina and Don Maina playing 21 and 13 respectively.

The guest winner prize went to K.Patel and H.Patel on 46 stableford points. The sixth qualifying round of the tournament will be held at Karen Golf and Country club on 24th May. pandora charm bracelet pandora charm bracelet

NGIGE WINS FIRST LEG OF KCB GOLF TOUR AT THIKA GREENS

Thika Golf Club resident Pro Simon Ngige shot from the crowd to emerge the winner of the first leg of KCB golf tour held at the Thika Greens Golf Club at the weekend.

Ngige managed a total of 3 under par 141 to outdo the overnight winner Kopan Timbe who slumped to a disappointing 4 over.

“The course is extremely challenging but I feel good to have won. My putting is getting better as I continue to work on it,” said Simon Ngige.

He got four birdies in both front and Back nine, 2nd, 8th, 13th and 18th. Ngige who is a two time winner of the KCB tour order of Merit shot one under par 71 in the second day for a two day total of three under par 141.

In second place was John Wangai of Sigona golf club who kept the momentum from a good start on Friday. Wangai managed an impressive 2 under par 142 in a day that sow giants stumble at the greens.

David Opati of Golf course club and Anil Shah of Muthaiga golf club tied in third position with a total of 1 under par 143.

The overnight leader Nyali resident pro and current PGK captain Kopan Timbe was in tie with three others for the fourth position with level par 144.

The tournament which ran for two days will next be at the Royal Nairobi golf course
