BOLLO WINS MT. KENYA CLASSIC, TO CAPTAIN NATIONAL TEAM AT AFRICA STROKEPLAY IN SA

International Kenneth Bollo made it two out of two after he won the second Golfer Of The Year tournament at the weekend, Mount Kenya Championships at the Nyeri Golf Club.

Royal Nairobi Golf Club’s Bollo who won the season opening Sigona Bowl last month, maintained his top form in the second event, posting a score of 150 (72, 78) in the 36-hole competition. His form has seen him appointed the national team captain for the Africa Amateur Strokeplay Championships in South Africa.

Alfred Nandwa of Railway playing off scratch was second on a score of 151 (76, 75), while Muthaiga’s Anthony Irungu playing off handicap two was third on 152 (68, 84).

The next GOTY event will be the Muthaiga Open on February 27-28.

NDUATI WINS KENYA POWER GOLF DAY AT KAREN

David Nduati ttok advantage of his home course resisted a stiff challenge from a large field of 200 players to emerge the overall winner of this year’s Kenya Power Golf Day at the par 72 Karen Golf and Country Club at the weekend.

According to People Daily, Nduati playing off handicap 16 posted 20 stableford points in the front nine and 21 points in the back nine for a total of 41 to rule the roost and in the process had his handicap slashed to 14.

Handicap 16 Ann Mululu from Vet Lab Golf Club beat home player Steven Mwendwa, Railway’s George Kirathe and Samuel Kimutai of Royal Club on back-to-back countbacks to finish as the overall runner-up on 39 points.

Mwendwa playing off handicap 18 was third, while handicap 24 Kirathe finished fourth and Kimutai playing off handicap four was fifth, all on 39 points.

At the par 71 Muthaiga Golf Club, Yogesh Nandha playing off handicap 20 needed a second nine score of 21 stableford points to beat handicap five G. N. Njugu on count back and emerge the winner of the Wahome Teak Furniture Golf Day.

Nandha amassed a total of 37 points (16, 21), while Njugu settled for the Men Runner-Up prize on 37 points (19, 18) and Charle Ogallo playing off handicap 11 was third on 36 points (14, 22).

Susan Kanyora playing off handicap 10 was the lady winner in the day long competition after posting 35 points (17, 18) and handicap 16 Samira Furrer was the lady runner-up on 31 points (16, 15).

Anbne Njeri playing off handicap 34 scooped the guest prize after amassing 29 points (14, 15), while Kush Bowry playing off handicap 18 won the junior prize on 35 points (15, 20) and handicap nine Sean Nganga was the junior runner-up on 31 points (13, 18).

Evans Vitisia won the first nine prize on 21 points and Don Maina won the second nine accolade on 20 points. officialyoutletsco officialyoutletsco
