A strong field of 40 local professionals tees off this morning at the Sigona Golf Club for this year’s Jamii Telecom PGK Masters golf championships set to act as part of their preparations ahead of next week’s Kenya Open Golf Championships at muthaiga Golf Club.

Thika’s Simon Ngige who won the competition last year, has been drawn with Royal’s Ken Abuto and will tee off at 8.48am.

Tournament director Elisha Kasuku and Professional Golfers of Kenya (PGK) captain C.J. Wangai will be the first ones on the tee box at 8am and will be followed by the par of Ajay Shah and Nyali’s Kopan Timbe.

Other top pros in the competition are Greg Snow, Brian Njoroge, Nelson Mudanyi, Richard Ainley, David Wakhu, Nyanza’s David Odhiambo and Dismas Indiza of Mumias.

Ethiopia international Haile and Uganda pair of Deo Akope and Dennis Anguyo will also be part of the 72-hole action.
