The Annual Kenya Golf Union Chairman’s Prize Golf Event will be played on Saturday July 12, 2014 at Royal Nairobi Golf Club.
This year’s event will be in honour of the out-going KGU Chairman Francis Okwara who has served the Union in different capacities since the year 2010.
Okwara served the Union as the Hon. Treasurer in 2010 and 2011 before becoming the Vice Chairman in 2012 and Chairman in 2013.
The event has attracted about 200 golfers from all over the country with each Club affiliated to the Union inviting a four ball each as well as Chairman’s guests most of whom are from his home club Royal Nairobi Golf Club. The Chairman has also invited national team members to participate in the event.
An array of prizes will be up for grabs and the winner of the event will get away with the Chairman’s cup that was introduced last year.
“The support for the game of golf has always been strong in Kenya and the 2013 KGU Chairman’s Prize Event is a wonderful opportunity for all golfers to come together as we enjoy a weekend full of golf extravaganza,” Okwara told Kenya Golf Guide.
The event will be an 18 holes stableford competition and all Clubs in Kenya are invited to send representatives.
The new Chairman and other officials of the Union will also elected by delegates (representatives of the affiliated Clubs) during the Annual General Meeting also set for Saturday. nike air max 1 nike air max 1
