By KGG CORRESPONDENT

At the 9-hole par-70 Kisii Golf Club, the team of George Mainye, Christopher Maato, John Momanyi and Dennis Aburi exhibited team effort that saw them inch closer towards the grand prize of an all-expense paid trip to Atlanta, Georgia after managing 114 points combined.

George Mainye anchored his team to victory by scoring an impressive 41 points getting a boost from teammates Christopher Maato and John Momanyi bringing in 37 and 36 points respectively. The weakest link was Dennis Aburi with 35 points.

Andrew Kombo had all the right combinations to steer him ahead into the grand finals but his team must have not been as lucky. The handicap 13 golfer played a remarkable game making him the day’s individual best after registering 22 points in the first nine and 19 points in the second nine to accumulate 41 points.

Christopher Masanta and Innocent Ondieki were the favorites in the first and second nine scoring 19 and 21 points respectively.

Joining them at the grand finale on August 27 will be the team of Ken Amalemba, John Ogutu, Julius Omollo and Raju Bayani who accumulated 105 points to emerge the day’s best at the 9-hole par-70 Nyanza Golf Club.

Ken Amalemba anchored his team by contributing 36 points, John Ogutu 35 points and Julius Omollo 34 points while Raju Bayani was the weakest link bringing in 30 points.

Handicap-28 David Balaka took home the Individual prize with a comfortable 38 stableford points shaking off tough competition from Lucas Nyambogo and Prasant Thakrar who came in second and third with 37 and 36 points respectively.

Mildred Nyatecho, handicap-16, was the queen of the first nine registering an impressive 21 points but could not match up in the second nine denying her the chance to move ahead.  The case was the same with Ramesh Karia who seems to have started off on the wrong footin the first nine but came back re-energized in the second nine to emerge the best with 21 points.

The Kisii and Nyanza events mark the end of the 17 qualifying events and the Dasani Golf Gala now moves back to the Karen Country Club on August 27 for the final tournament that will see the top four players win an all-expense paid trip to the TOUR championships presented by Coca-Cola at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. michael kors tasche jet set michael kors tasche jet set
