SuperSport viewers on DStv can look forward to seeing all the action from the PGA Tour’s  RBC Canadian Open, from the St. George’s Golf and Country Club in Toronto, Ontario from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 June 2022.

SuperSport is the ultimate destination for Golf fans, with an unparalleled selection of action from around the world.

The Canadian Open is the third oldest continuously running tournament on the PGA Tour, after The Open Championship and the U.S. Open. It is the only national championship that is a PGA Tour-managed event.

This year marks the return of the RBC Canadian Open, with the tournament cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The last edition in 2019, at the Hamilton Country Club in Ontario, was won by Rory McIlroy, who shot 258 (-22) to finish seven strokes ahead of Shane Lowry and Webb Simpson.

McIlroy will return to defend his title this year, but he faces stiff competition from an excellent field of competitors which includes 2022 Masters Tournament champion Scottie Scheffler. “Competing for a national championship is always a great honour and I’m thrilled to be coming to Toronto in June to play in the RBC Canadian Open for the first time,” said the 25-year-old, who became the sixth-youngest player to reach the top spot on golf’s world rankings.

Another player to watch is rising star Cameron Smith. The 28-year-old Australian is enjoying the best season of his career on the PGA Tour and will be one of the favourites for victory at the Canadian Open.

I’ve heard how much positive momentum there is for the return of the RBC Canadian Open. I’m actually pretty excited to get back to Canada for the first time since 2017 and keen to play St. George’s, which I hear is one of the top courses in the country,” said Smith.

Similar to back home in Australia, Canada’s golf fans seem really passionate and I’m looking forward to heading up to Toronto in June to compete in their National Open.”

The field will also include Dustin Johnson, Cameron Smith, Tony Finau, Matthew Fitzpatrick and local Canadian favourites such as Bryce Barker, Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes, Adam Hadwin, Nick Taylor, Taylor Pendrith, Adam Svensson, Michael Gligic and Roger Sloan.

The St. George’s Golf and Country Club features a par 71, 7,025-yard course. The purse for the Memorial Tournament is $8.7million.

SuperSport viewers on DStv can look forward to seeing all the action from the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge, from the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 May 2022.

SuperSport is the ultimate destination for Golf fans, with an unparalleled selection of action from around the world.

Formerly known as the Colonial National Invitational, the Charles Schwab Challenge was first held in 1946 and is one of five invitational tournaments on the PGA Tour. It honours the history of golf by using an official Scottish tartan plaid jacket for its champions and top committee chairmen.

Another tradition is the ‘Wall of Champions’ on the first tee, engraved with the name and score of each champion dating back to 1946, plus the 1975 Tournament Players Championship, 1941 U.S. Open, and 1991 U.S. Women’s Open.

Last year’s edition of the Charles Schwab Challenge was won by American Jason Kokrak, who shot 266 (-14) to end two strokes clear of Jordan Spieth. He will be back at Colonial this coming weekend to try and defend his title.

Winning the Charles Schwab Challenge was a career highlight for me and I will be honoured to return to the Colonial Country Club to try and successfully defend my title,” said Kokrak.

Spieth will also be back and looking to keep up both his fine record at this tournament (he was champion in 2016 and has been a runner-up finisher three times), as well as his outstanding recent form, having taken victory at the RBC Heritage in April.

“I felt in a good place. Just needed to give myself a chance,” Spieth said after his victory. “It feels amazing.”

Challenging Kokrak and Spieth will be a star-studded field, including the likes of Cameron Davis, Rickie Fowler, Sergio Garcia, Max Homa, K.H. Lee, Collin Morikawa, Carlos Ortiz, Ian Poulter and Bubba Watson.

Watson recently revealed why he split with long-time caddie Ted Scott: “I have no regrets, and I don’t think he does either,” Watson explained. “[Scott] has made more money now without me. He needed ten more years. I haven’t told anybody, but I had some struggles this offseason. Wrote a book about some struggles. My wrist, I had a wrist injury all last year. Had some PRP.

So I called him and told him. I said, look, man, I’m 43 years old. I don’t know what I’m going to do. My wrist is killing me. He is like he needs ten more years, and I gave him — I felt like a nice retirement package when we split up, but we split up mutually.”

The Colonial Country Club features a par 70, 7,209-yard course. The purse for the Charles Schwab Challenge is $8.4million.
