Over 130 golfers will this weekend converge at the scenic Nyali Golf and Country Club to compete in the twelfth leg of the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival.

Nyali Golf and Country Club Captain, George Nesbitt says golfers can expect a stirring tournament citing the intrinsic winds.   “We are very much honored to host the Tusker Malt series at the Nyali Golf and Country Club, the members are well prepared for the tournament and I look forward to guests loving the experience, on and off the course,” he says.

“However, the fairways are dry, but the greens are in fantastic shape.  Golfers should expect a great challenge on the greens,” Captain Nesbitt adds. “I wish them all the best as they play in our exquisite course,” says Nesbitt.

Morning action begins at 7.00am, in the gently rolling par-71 course with a decent mixture of sturdy right and left doglegs, the only 18-hole course in northern coast. “The Nyali Golf and Country Club is a joy to play in. However, our greatest challenge here at the coast is that we are is in dire need of sponsorships. Therefore we welcome EABL’s move to support us, “says captain Nesbitt.

EABL have come on board to sponsor and sustain the 18th hole for the next one year and they are confident that this will give way for more sponsorship. The Carnival has embraced the popular international format of  “The Four Ball Better Ball” in this leg’s tournaments which auger well with Tusker Malt’s warm spirit of comradeship and bonding.

Meanwhile Silvana Franciolli is the overall winner of the eleventh leg of the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival that took place at the  9-hole Malindi Golf and Country Club. The Wednesday tournament was a Club Night sponsored by EABL.

Kenyan Golf Clubs have gained prominence as golf tourism destinations and a round of golf in Nyali being set among the palms and casuarinas with the striking view of the sapphire Indian Ocean is an appealing nature walk.

From Nyali, the carnival on February 18, 2012 moves to Thika Sports Club which is set in the serene countryside amongst pineapple and coffee plantations. Karen Country Club and the Royal Club follow on March 3 and March 10, 2012 respectively. The Grand Finale of the Tusker Malt Carnival will be held in April 2011 at the Muthaiga Golf club. The winning pair from the carnival is expected to win an overseas golf trip.

The carnival is scheduled to visit 30 golf clubs and engage some 5, 000 golfers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda in a regional tour aimed at promoting bonding and friendship, the brand value of Tusker Malt Lager. zapatillas air max zapatillas air max

Facing Mt.Kenya lays the Par 70 Nanyuki Golf and country club which welcomes close to a hundred golfers for the fifteenth qualifying round of the Safaricom Business Golf Challenge 2011/2012 edition.

The nine hole course overlooking Mt.Kenya will stage golfers from Nyeri Golf club and Nyahururu Sports club all battling it out for the grand finale of the series at magnificent Vipingo Baobab Ridge Golf Resort at South coast on 28th April 2012.

The course is in very very dry condition and too much wind due to the dry weather spell affecting all parts of the country,” said the clubs captain David McConnell.

The greens though are in good condition but a bit rough as well which will pose great challenge to the visiting players. Added McConnell who was once the captain Nyali Golf Club in 1999.

As per the competition rules, stableford still remains the format of play. This features the low and high handicappers .Some of the players expected to pose great challenge according to the captain are; Handicap 5 Major General Waweru, playing off handicap 26 Richard Kabugi and Handicap 13 Erastus Wanjohi.

On the ladies category, Charity Mwangi playing off handicap 12 has shown stunning performance in the recent competitions and is also expected to battle it out for the winner slot. Junior golfer Dennis Munene playing off handicap 19 is the only junior golfer who is at his best recently. michael kors handtasche sale michael kors handtasche sale
