KANGETHE AND NGUGI VICTORIOUS AT THE TUSKER MALT GOLF CARNIVAL GRAND FINALE

The Limuru Country Club team of Kangethe Ndiho and John Ngugi are the winners of the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival Grand Finale held at the Muthaiga Golf Club over the weekend. The pair, playing off handicaps of 17 and 28 respectively, combined brilliantly in the four-ball better-ball format, to post a score of 45 points to claim victory over 150 other finalists.

The pair started their final round conservatively, scoring 20 points on the treacherous opening nine holes at Muthaiga. On the closing nine holes, the pair came alive and took advantage of the cool weather to post a huge 25 points for a total of 45 points.

With this victory, the pair win now be VIP guests of Tusker Malt Lager in an all expenses paid golf trip to South Africa that will involve golf at some of the top golf clubs in Gauteng and professional golf lessons at the Vodacom World of Golf in Sandton. Congratulating the winners, the KBL Marketing Director Caroline Ndungu thanked all the golf clubs that had hosted the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival. “This season, the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival visited 15 golf clubs across Kenya, from Malindi to Kisumu and from Machakos to Nyeri.

The Carnival hosted over 2,900 amateur golfers from 35 golf clubs and on behalf of KBL and the sponsoring brand, Tusker Malt, I would like to thank them all for participating,” Ndungu said. “To the winners, congratulations and I trust that you  will be great ambassadors for Tusker Malt and Kenya as you travel to South Africa for what is destined to be an experience of a life-time.”

Speaking on behalf of the winning pair, Kangethe thanked the sponsors for a well organized event. “The Tusker Malt team has continued to come up with new and interesting ways for competition and this has kept this championship fresh and popular,” Kangethe said. “We were had a few good breaks on the golf course today and we now look forward to the VIP golf trip that Tusker Malt has prepared for us.”

The Muthaiga team of Richard Wanjalla and Edmund Kabera finished second with 43 points, after posting scores of 20 and 23 beating the Karen Country Club team of Jeff Bamford and Bob Oliver to third place on count-back. The Muthaiga team of Irungu Macharia and Evans Vitisia were the guest winners with the highest score of the day, a massive 46 points made up of 23 points on each nine. Jeremy Ngunze and Josephat Ngile were the guests runners up with 43 points. The first nine was won by the Sigona Golf Club team of Sammy Ndungu and Anthony Wachira on 22 points whilst the second nine was won by the Machakos Golf Club team of Michael Kamala and Dee Kivuva on 23 points. air max 97 air max 97

MUTHAIGA HOSTS TUSKER MALT GOLF CARNIVAL GRAND FINALE

After visiting 15 golf clubs across Kenya and hosting over 2,900 amateur golfers from 35 golf clubs, the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival concludes tomorrow at the Muthaiga Golf Club.

According to Wanyi Mwaura, the Tusker Brand Manager, the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival Grand Finale will include 140 qualifiers and 50 Tusker Malt Lager guests. “This is it, after eight months of competition, the Carnival will conclude this weekend at Muthaiga. It has been an exciting journey; a journey that has taken Tusker Malt across the country to some of the best golf courses in Kenya,” Mwaura said. “The Carnival has been hugely successful, we have witnessed some superb golf and the comradeship at the 19th hole, fueled by Tusker Malt has been legendary.”
The Tusker Malt Golf Carnival was played in the now popular Four-Ball Better-Ball format. “This year we decided to introduce the four-ball better-ball format, a format that encourages team work and bonding amongst the competing pairs,” Mwaura added. “We would like to thank the golf clubs for embracing this new format and I can assure you that the Tusker Malt team will come up with an even more interesting format in the future.”
The Carnival kicked off at the Railway Golf Club in September 2011 before moving east to the Machakos Golf Club and then North to the Njoro Country Club. In November, the Carnival moved to the nine-hole Kiambu Golf Club before returning North to Eldoret and then West to the Nyanza Golf Club. The Limuru Country Club hosted the Carnival in December. Muthaiga Golf Club and Sigona Golf Club held their qualification round in January 2012 whilst Vet Lab Sports Club, Nyali and Thika Sports Club had their taste of the Carnival in February. the Karen Country Club and the Royal Nairobi Golf Club held thei qualification rounds in March 2012. “We also visited the Malindi Golf Club in February, a first for the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival and we will include that beautiful golf club in the series in the new season,” Mwaura commented. “Although it is not possible to visit each and every club in Kenya, the Carnival has been successful in ensuring all Kenyan golfers participate.”
The winning team from the Tusker Malt Lager Golf Carnival will win a VIP golf trip to South Africa. “Our winners will enjoy a golf trip to South Africa where they will play in some of the top golf clubs in Johannesburg,” Mwaura said. “They will also receive top class golf instruction from teaching professionals at the Vodacom World of Golf in Sandton and hopefully that will make them even better golfers.” nike air max 90 mujer nike air max 90 mujer
