A large field of 212 players has been attracted to the NIC Bank Golf Series’ final event to be held at the par 72 Royal Nairobi Golf Club on Saturday, where a number of lucrative prizes have been lined-up for
the winners.
Saturday’s event will be the climax of the bank series which teed off on April 26, with the first event at the Railway Golf Club.
The series has visited nine club’s before the Royal event. It went through Railway Golf Club, Nyanza Club, Limuru Country Club, Mombasa Club, Thika Sports Club, Sigona Golf Club, Eldoret Club, Kiambu Club and Nakuru Golf Club.
According to Royal’s lady captain Sarah Hoare, the course is in a perfect condition and high scores would be expected on Saturday.
“The course is currently playing very well, the roughs are not so bad and the greens are in a perfect condition after the light rains on Wednesday, however they could be a bit slow and players should not
expect the ball to move fast even on the fairway,” said Hoare.
She added: “We will be expecting impressive scores at the NIC Bank tournament, because of the good condition of the course just as it was evident in a tournament last weekend.”
Some of the players expected to spice-up the day long tournament include former Kenya Golf Union (KGU) Chairman David Mogere, National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) treasurer Fridah Shiroya, top lady golfer Mary Cox and club members Paul Ichangi and Eric Ooko.
Tournament sponsors NIC Bank will also field a strong staff team comprising of and Tim Gitonga, David Kiambi and Michael Kinuthia.
Among the prizes on offer at the daylong tournament will include the overall winner, men winner, lady winner, junior winner, men and ladies’ longest drive, nearest to the pin, best nine scores and staff
prize among others.
The tournament is in its second edition and has this year been bigger and better. canada goose femme canada goose femme
