Vet Lab’s Robinson Owiti managed a total of seven over par 226 to win this year’s Trans NzoiaChampionship at the par 73 Kitale Golf Club Course at the weekend.

Owiti playing off scratch played three over par 76 in the first round before posting an identical score of two over par 75 in the second and third rounds to rule the roost in the 54-hole competition that is part of the Golfer Of The Year series events.

The  feat saw him return to third position on the series standings behind leader John Karichu of Limuru and Golf Park’s Tony Omuli.

Nelson Simwa playing off handicap +2, recovered after a bad start to finished second in Kitale on 11 over par 230 (79, 75, 76) and in the process leaped to top 10 for the first time this season, after having a slow start to the season.

“I said I will bounce back and this is my first step in my road to recovery after a false start to the season. Next week we are going to Nakuru for the Coronation trophy and I believe if I perform well there as well, I will be knocking the door on the top five,” said long hitting Simwa.

He added: “I tied with Frank Matilo and Anthony Kinuthia, but beat them on count back to secure the second slot.”

Frank Matilo was third on 230 (78, 78, 74) and Kinuthia was fourth on 230 (75, 74, 81). Matilo is ranked 20th on the log while Kinuthia is 14th. maillot de foot pas cher 2018 maillot de foot pas cher 2018

National golf team player Nelson Simwa is eager to return to his winning ways during this weekend’s Nzoia Open at the par 73 Kitale Golf Club.

This will be the seventh event in the Golfer Of The Year competition and Simwa who is in an awkward position plans to use it to rediscover his form that saw him finish second overall last season.

“At the last event, the Winstone Churchill in Thika, I started well, finishing the first round tied third on one over, but I fell sick in the last round and performed poorly, managing a poor 10 over,” said Simwa.

He added: “Kitale has the longest course and I believe it suits long hitters like me. I know the course well, it has five long par fives especially hole 14 and the greens are not smooth, so I am ready for the challenge having played there a number of times.”

He will face stiff challenge from GOTY leader John Karichu of Limuru, Tony Omuli, Robinson Owiti and Justus Madoya.

The 54-hole competition will take place on Saturday and Sunday. charms pandora pas cher charms pandora pas cher
