PREPARATIONS FOR KWETU HOME OF PEACE GOLF DAY AT ROYAL TAKES SHAPE

Preparation for the inaugural Kwetu Home of Peace Golf Day has gone a notch higher and organisers are urging willing sponsors to seize the opportunity and come on board to make it a memorable event.

The tournament slated for July 3 at Royal Nairobi Golf Club, will be used to raise funds to support the daily basic needs of the group’s Makadara and Ruai homes.

According to the organisers, the tournament will provide an opportunity for interaction and relationship building in a fun, relaxed and comfortable environment.

“We welcome the opportunity for sponsorship which will be through direct corporate and individual donation, participation in the tournament and donation of raffle prize items for auctioning during the tournament,” said Sister Angela Odhiambo, the director Kwetu Home of Peace.

The sponsorship categories in the event include the main sponsor, Diamond sponsor (Sh300, 000), gold sponsor (Sh150, 000), silver sponsor (Sh100, 000), hole sponsor (Sh 40, 000), team sponsor (Sh10, 000), individual golfer entry (Sh 2, 000), ball pool (Sh 100).

Kwetu Home of Peace is a non-profit making organization that rescues, rehabilitates and reintegrates street children and destitute. The organization was established in 1993 and currently has premises in Madaraka and Ruai in Nairobi with an average population of 110 children of ages ranging from 8 years and above. It is managed by the Assumption Sisters of Eldoret.

DEPARTED PRO, NJIRU TO BE CREMATED ON THURSDAY

The local golf fraternity has been mourning the demise of veteran pro Peter Njiru who is set for Thursday’s final journey.
Njiru who has worked as a residential professional at a number of club’s including Windsor, Muthaiga and Kiambu passed on last week after a long struggle with kidney problems and will be cremated on Thursday at the Kariakor Cemetry.
The 55-year old golfer turned pro in 1992staright from the caddie ranks. He will be missed greatly by the golfing family. RIP air max 95 air max 95
