MUGO EMERGES WINNER OF DSTV EXPLORA GOLF DAY AT KIAMBU CLUB

Home player Caeser Mugo posted 39 stableford points to emerge the winner of the DStv Explora Ben Gaithuma Golf Day at the Par-72 Kiambu Golf Club course at the weekend. Playing off handicap 18, Mugo beat handicap 15 Paul Kaumbutho who managed 38 stableford points after beating Club captain Timothy Kihara on countback.

Joyce Wanjiru scooped the ladies title on 36 stableford points after beating Grace Githere on countback. The gross prize went to handicap four John Ngure who posted 80 gross, while handicap 16 Pius Mworia won the first nine prize on 23 points while the second nine accolades went to Julius Gathumbi.

The day long event attracted 94 players and was the first in the DStv Explora Golf series that will be hosted in various golf courses across the country.

ELEANOR AND SHAH WIN TOP PRIZES AT THE MUTHAIGA RESIDENT ASSOCIATION CHARITY GOLF

Eleanor Getty tees off from the first tee during the Muthaiga Residents Association charity golf tournament. She carded 43 points and won the Ladies’ prize.

Handicap 34 Eleanor Getty and Ashish Shah playing off 13 won the top prizes during the Muthaiga Residents Association charity golf tournament. The prizes were presented by Zarak Khan, the Managing Director of DT Dobie, the lead sponsor of the event.

Ashish Shah carded 40 Stableford points ahead of Wilson Mithamo who came second with 38 points. Eleanor Getty carded 43 points to win the Lady’s prize while Rezacola Lada took home the second prize with 39 points. Charles Gitahi and Jane Parmley won the longest drive for men and ladies respectively.

Ashish is on a winning streak having recently qualified to represent Africa in the MercedesTrophy golf tournament along with Dr. Noah Awinja. This global series attracts over 60,000 golfers from more than 60 countries and will be held in Stuttgart, Germany between October 1st and 5th.

Zarak Khan in his speech congratulated the players and for turning up in large numbers to support the tournament. He said, “DT Dobie is proud to be part of this event to raise funds for Muthaiga Resident Association’s work.”
