SuperSport viewers on DStv can look forward to watching all the action from the Dutch Open at the Bernardus Golf Club in Cromvoirt, the Netherlands from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 September 2021.

SuperSport is the ultimate destination for Golf fans, with an unparalleled selection of action from around the world.

Established in 1912, the Dutch Open returns in 2021 after being cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The last edition, known as the KLM Open, was held in 2019 and won by Spaniard Sergio Garcia.

Fans will be present at the Bernardus Golf Club: “We are following the advice of the Dutch government and that looks very good at the moment. As it looks now, it will be possible to organise a successful, attractive and safe tournament in September 2021 with all our visitors. Of course, this will be with due observance of the measures in force at that time,” said tournament director Daan Slooter.

He added that the Dutch Open will boast the talents of South Africa’s Garrick Higgo and Branden Grace.

In addition, we were also able to sign up Garrick Higgo. A year ago, Higgo was still number 190 in the world. The South African is now 39th in the world ranking and has already won two European Tour events and a PGA TOUR tournament this year.”

Joost Luiten, ambassador of the Dutch Open, will also be in the field. The champion of 2013 and 2016 regularly plays at Bernardus and is looking forward to his home tournament: “I hope it will feel like coming home to a new course this year. I want to perform again, give some extras for the home crowd that can be present at tournaments again.”

The field will also feature Nicolai Hojgaard, who is fresh from winning the Italian Open a week after his twin brother Rasmus won the European Masters. “It’s crazy,” said the Danish player after his victory in Rome. “I’ve been through every emotion in my body and brain. It’s what I’ve been working hard on all year and all my life.”

The Bernardus Golf Club features a 7,042 yard par 72 course. The purse for the Dutch Open is 1million.
