SuperSport viewers on DStv can look forward to seeing all the action from the PGA Tour’s BMW Championship at the Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 August 2021.

SuperSport is the ultimate destination for Golf fans, with an unparalleled selection of action from around the world.

The BMW Championship serves as the second round of the FedEx Cup (featuring 70 players and no midway cut), following on from last week’s Northern Trust tournament. The top 30 FedEX Cup points leaders will then advance into the prestigious Tour Championship, where the FedEx Cup champion will be determined.

Last year’s BMW Championship was won by Spaniard Jon Rahm in dramatic style, as he sunk an incredible 65-foot putt on the 18th to take victory over Dustin Johnson in a playoff.

“I knew how good DJ has been playing. I was expecting nothing else,” Rahm said. “I was fully confident it was going to come into a playoff and hoping to win it. Never did I think I would make another 50-, 60-footer, a couple of breaks in there, to end up winning it.”

The 2021 event will mark the first time the BMW Championship has been held in Maryland and the second time in four years to be held on the East Coast. Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia, hosted the 2018 edition.

This is a terrific recognition of the remarkable golf experience at Caves Valley, and we are confident the golfers will find our course a great test,” said Steve Fader, chairman of Caves Valley Golf Club. “Golf fans will enjoy a terrific fan experience watching the best players compete here in Baltimore. The BMW Championship also will provide a significant economic impact for Baltimore and the surrounding areas.”

Recent past champions of the BMW Championship other than Rahm include Johnson, who has won the tournament in 2010 and 2016, 2019 champion Justin Thomas, 2018 winner Keegan Bradley and Marc Leishman, who claimed the trophy in 2017.

Players at the top of the FedEX Cup standings include Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, Harris English, Rahm, Abraham Ancer, Bryson DeChambeau, Louis Oosthuizen, Thomas and Sam Burns.

The Caves Valley Golf Club has a 7,226 yard par 71 course. The purse for the BMW Championship is $9.5million.
