Reigning champions South Africa surged forward and now almost have a single leg for the title of the 12th All Africa Challenge Trophy by eight shots, 294 gross, after the second round of the 54 hole championships being played at Muthaiga Golf Club, Nairobi.
The Kenya ladies golf team, who had a narrow one-shot overnight lead is now in second on 302 gross. Naomi Wafula and Christina Engell Andersen struggled on day two but were saved by Josephine Ainley who shot 76 gross (4-over par) to maintain her individual second place and keep Kenya in the race for a top three position.

Kenya’s team aggregate combined with Josephine and Christina Engell Andersen (82 gross) as Naomi Wafula carded 84.
The Tanzanians are only 4 shots adrift in third place, with Hawa Wanyeche tied in first place, for the second round on 73 (2-over) with South Africa’s Michaela Fletcher. Angel Eaton and Madina Iddy
also from Tanzania have crept up the leader board in joint 6th place.
Zambia is in fourth place on 315, followed by neighbours Zimbabwe a further 6 shots behind on 321. Uganda is sixth with 326 gross.
