Railway's John Wangai at a past Tusker Malt event

The team of Sammy Ndung’u and Anthony Wachira are the winners of the 9th leg of the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival that took place at Sigona Golf Club over the weekend.

The tournament attracted over 200 amateur golfers who converged at the 18-hole par-71 course to battle it out for top place.

Ndung’u, handicap 13, and Wachira, handicap 21, teamed up well to emerge the day’s best golfers posting 26 on the first nine and 24 points on the second nine for a team score of 50 points.

The score of 50 now puts Ndung’u and Wachira at the top followed closely by the team of Moses Tanui and David Kimutai of Eldoret Golf Club who posted 49 points in the fifth leg of the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival that took place in December 2011.

Coming in second was the duo of Neel Shah and Rachna Patel. Playing off 26 and 33 respectively, Shah and Patel scored 23 points on the front nine and 25 points on the back nine for a team score of 48 points.

Winning on count back was the team of Rajesh Shah and Rimal Sira took third place. Shah and Sira, playing off handicap 20 and 24 respectively, scored 22 points on the first nine and 24 points on the second nine for a cumulative score of 46 points.

The team of Prabhulal C. Shah and Vipin N. Dave played well in the first nine posting 25 points but could not match up shedding off four points in the second nine to register 21 for 46. Shah and Dave settled for fourth place losing on count back to the pair of Shah and Sira.

Handicap 26 Gopal Savani and handicap 16 Anand Radia were fifth managing 20 and 25 for 45. D. G Okello (14) and Dan Owino (12) scooped the guest price with an unchanged score of 21 points in the first and second nine for a total of 42 points.

The Tusker Malt Golf Carnival has so far been to the Railway Golf Club, Machakos Golf Club, Njoro, Kiambu, Eldoret, Nyanza, Limuru and Muthaiga. The carnival is scheduled to visit 30 golf clubs and engage some 10, 000 golfers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda in a regional tour aimed at promoting bonding and friendship, the brand value of Tusker Malt.

The challenge now heads to VetLab Sports Club on February 4 with Malindi Golf Club scheduled to host the 11th leg on February 8. michael kors tasche jet set michael kors tasche jet set
