Kenya’s highest world ranked amateur, Stefan Engell Andersen has turned golf professional. Announcing this from Johannesburg yesterday, Stefan who narrowly missed out on his full playing card for the Sunshine Tour 2012 is now a member of the Professional Golf Association of Kenya (PGAK).
It is hoped that he can be one of the affiliate members to represent Kenya on the Sunshine Tour in 2012 starting with the Johannesburg Open on 10 January, being played at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington, Stefan’s home club for the past two years. However, as an affiliate, he will have to pre-qualify alongside the other tour school graduates, as the event is a European Tour event with prize money of Euro 1.2 million.
