CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE: Lake Benoni Golf Club in Gauteng, South Africa.

Lake Benoni Golf Club in Gauteng, South Africa will be the venue for The All Africa Championships this year.

The course is a par 72 and 6572m long from the championship tees, with the difficulty rating in 3 stars out of
5.

According to top amateur golfer Stephan Andersen who has played on the course, the course itself can be set up
to play hard with very hard pin positions due to good bunker placements, because it’s the course’s only defense, because it’s not long, it’s fairly tight of the tee but because it’s not long accuracy in key of the tee and it allows you to have a variety from the tee box.

“Iron play would be a big factor. Greens are narrow and undulating. Greens will be slick and consistent. I think
good preparation will be to play at Muthaiga Golf Club (MGC) because greens will be similar but faster at Lake Benoni Club, but also to vary tee boxes, for example play MGC from the back then from ladies tee and then to vary ladies tee and blue tees,” said Andersen.

He added: “One of the things myself and my coach noticed was that some holes can play 30 to 110m longer just from changing the tee box. The key to shooting good scores is course management, clever shots from the tee to leave yourself with scoring clubs into the greens.

The more pars you make the less bogey’s you will make and the more chances you will have to make birdies.” air max mujer air max mujer
