SAFARICOM BUSINESS GOLF CHALLENGE ACTION MOVES TO NAKURU CLUB

The fifth round of the Safaricom Business Golf Challenge tees off at the par 73 Nakuru Golf Club that overlooks LakeNakuru and borders Menengai Crater on Saturday.

The qualifying event has attracted over 130 players drawn from Nakuru Golf Club, Naivasha Sports Club, Gilgil Golf Club, Njoro Golf Club and the Great RiftValley Golf Club.

Home Club Captain Karinga Wambugu and his Chairman Steve Mugunyu will lead the pack of seasoned golfers who will be battling for regional supremacy and the array of prizes on offer from Safaricom.

Among the top players expected to claim victory include Moses Kiragu, Nakuru Golf Club green keeper Njuguna Njoka, Josphine Kaime, Dennis Kimambo the Vice Captain and Muna Njenga.

However, some of the outstanding armatures from the region like A. Nandwa, S. Nanji,S.Nanji, Wangai, Omulli among others will miss the weekend action since theywill be chasing GOTY points at the KGU Tea Fields event at Kericho Golf Club.

In the junior category, the boys to watch will be Luther Kamau, Viren Gudka and Mutasa Mossaji. They will be fighting for a Nokia C3 and Sh 5,000 airtime.

From Nakuru Golf Club, the challenge will move to Vet Lab Golf Club on 8thOctober 2011.

Meanwhile,the Gertrude’s Children Hospital Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament sponsored by Safaricom will be held on Friday 23rd September at Muthaiga GolfClub.

Last year, Safaricom’s title sponsorship for the event helped Gertrude’s Children Hospital raise Sh 3.8 million, which went towards treatment of charity cases countrywide.

This year, as the hospital celebrates it’s 21st year of its annual fundraising golf tournament, they aim to raise over Sh 4 million for treatment of more than 1,500 on care for HIV/AIDS who rely on the free services at the main hospital and outreach clinics. canada goose outlet canada goose outlet
