Other countries that the tournament visited are Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Cote D’Ivore, Senegal, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Sechelles, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania.

During the tournament, the airline has been offering packages that tour operators can use to promote Kenya as a super golf destination.

The ninth event in the ongoing Tusker Malt Golf Carnival tees off this weekend at the 18-hole par 71 Sigona Golf Club.

Over 200 golfers have been drawn from host Sigona as well as from Nairobi and Kikuyu area and are expected to participate in the weekend tournament. The golfers will be battling for top spot in the challenge that has incorporated the internationally recognized format of play, The Four Ball Better Ball. This format of play presents its challenges but so far it has attracted huge fields of amateur golfers who manage to score highly.

Club Captain Kamal Shah expresses confidence in the condition of the course but warns that the greens might not be easily navigable during the Saturday event.

“We expect the greens to be slick and fast; definitely not making it easy for the players. Last week our top amateurs of Kenya played the course during the Sigona Bowl and found it quite challenging!” says Captain Shah.

Morning action begins at 7.30am with the afternoon tee off scheduled for 2pm to end slightly before 6pm. “Given the huge field expected we plan to begin early in order to wrap up in good time, “says Captain Shah.

Top contenders for this challenge include handicap 2 John Ndichu, handicap 6 and Vice Chairman of Sigona Club Michael Njoroge as well as handicap 8 Parit Mehta.

Others expected to give fellow golfers a run for their money are Nitin “Jogoo” Shah (8) and former captain Amit Sodha. Captain Shah says golfers can expect an exciting tournament citing improved course conditions as well as favorable weather conditions. . “We are honored to have the tusker malt series at Sigona, the members are extremely excited and I hope guests will love the experience at Sigona, on and off the course, “ he says

The tenth leg of the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival which began in September last year will take place at Vetlab Sports Club before moving to the Nyali Golf and Country Club in February.  So far, eight events have been held at the Kenya Railways, Machakos, Njoro, Kiambu, Eldoret, Nyanza, Limuru and Muthaiga golf clubs.

The carnival is scheduled to visit 30 golf clubs and engage some 10, 000 golfers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda in a regional tour aimed at promoting bonding and friendship, the brand value of Tusker Malt. canada goose frauen canada goose frauen
