The team comprising of Alfred Nandwa – Railway Golf Club , Edwin Mudanyi- Vetlab Sports Club, John Karichu -Limuru Country Club and Mutahi Kibugu (junior)- Muthaiga Golf Club, was accompanied by Kenya Golf Union chairman, Richard Wanjalla and the national team coach John Patrick Van Liefland.

KGU chairman Wanjalla exuded confidence with the team selected for the team championships to be held at the Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe from October 8th – 14th noting that this year alone, the national team had won Victoria Cup Trophy held in Uganda and also East Africa Challenge held in Tanzania.

One of the challenge that we have is that we lack exposure compared to other countries like South Africa who are always playing in different countries and continents” said junior golfer Mutahi Kubugu who is part of the team.

The PS noted that the ministry is working on establishing Golf Academies in the Country and will work closely with the Union.

The ministry will facilitate Airfare, Allowances and Insurance for the National Golf team travelling to Zimbabwe,” said Kaberia.

We do believed that this is a great team and we are optimistic to come back with the trophy,” said Wanjalla.
